Description

Delight in a full-day excursion to one of Switzerland’s most attractive Alpine regions – the idyllic Bernese Oberland. See the quintessential and charming Swiss villages of Grindelwald and Interlaken, set against a stunning backdrop of three of Switzerland’s most famous mountains.

From Zurich, you embark on a scenic coach journey through the splendid countryside to Interlaken – the heart of the magnificent Jungfrau region. After your first stop in Interlaken, continue to Grindelwald, a lively and varied place perfect for active holidays. Numerous lookout points provide stunning views of the impressive surrounding mountainscape, including the world-famous triple peaks Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. If you want an even more spectacular view, take a cable car trip to the sunny terrace of Mount First. Or, use your free time to ride a trotti bike.

In the early afternoon you return by train to Interlaken – ideally located between two sparkling blue Alpine lakes for one of the most surreal settings imaginable. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring this shopping paradise and marvelling in the charm of the unique architecture. Buy fresh regional produce, souvenirs to remember your trip by, or a well-crafted watch or jewellery. You can also choose to take a cable car up Interlaken’s home mountain – Harder Kulm – for an exceptional view of the picturesque scenery that surrounds this storybook town.

Full of mountain-fresh air and fond Alpine memories, journey through quaint Swiss countryside to the pristinely kept city of Zurich.

Both towns are excellent choices to sample Swiss culture and scenery. This 12 hour day tour just transports you to two nearby alpine towns where you are surrounded by Alps and beautiful Swiss scenery. Cable rides up to nearby mountain peaks are available at extra individual cost in Grindenwald. The tour bus drops you off in Grindenwald (near Mount Eiger), and you are given a train ticket to take you over to Interlaken. The tour bus picks you up at the end of the day in Interlaken to transport you back to Zurich. You are given no useful map for use in either town, and you decide how much time you spend in each town.
