What you can expect

Spend a day with a Berber family and discover the culture and customs of native Moroccan life. Enjoy an invitation to the heart of village life and take part in day-to-day tasks including drawing water from a well, harvesting crops, picking fresh mint, and preparing lunch.

Begin your morning with a countryside drive along the Agadir road to the Berber village of Imintanoute, where local families welcome and invite you to the inner-workings of their village. Immerse yourself in everyday Berber life: Draw water from a well, “park” a donkey, pick fresh mint, and milk a goat. Learn how to weave a rug, paint henna on your hands or feet, or write your name in Berber.

With your hosting family, prepare and enjoy a traditional lunch of tasty tagines and fresh bread from a traditional oven. Why not have a try at eating in true Berber style with no knives or forks! Enjoy genuine Berber entertainment of traditional songs and dances. Have a go at the mint tea-making competition and try to win yourself a memorable prize—what a great souvenir!
