The first room they gave me reeked like dirty diapers and stale urine, and the bed didn’t look clean. The pillows were askew, etc. This was on the west side of the building. The button to call the front desk was broken and dialing 0 didn’t work (apparently the number is 12 or 14, go figure?) — so I walked a good distance back to lobby. When I asked to switch, they gave me an “upgrade” which was the same size/kind of room just 2 floors up. They also gave me a 1 free drink ticket. Felt a little cheap, not a real accommodation or show of service. Housekeeping also came and knocked loudly at 730AM! Yikes. On the plus side there was complimentary afternoon lemonade in the lobby, which was pretty good. Overall the hotel looks deteriorated, old, sad, stuffy. It was great 10-15 years ago but hasn’t been kept up well. A friend recommended the woodley inn b&b so perhaps will try that next time in the neighborhood.

Very nice stay! Only thing is the valets were a bit late getting our car but nothing crazy. Remember there is a $100 hold on your stay when you check in. And $55 of it is taken by parking. So not a huge con but take it into consideration

Very much enjoyed our stay. Price and convenience to Metro and Zoo were the main drawing points Pros: convenience to the Metro; Zoo within walking distance; price (compared to hotels around the mall); plenty of space in the room (family of 4); onsite cafe for quick breakfast; variety of restaurants within walking distance; pool was heated (kids were fine but too cold for me); safe location; friendly staff Cons: in some areas, you can definitely tell the age of the building; $55 for parking; I wouldn't call the sheets terribly soft; drawback of being far away from sites if you needed to grab something (or change because of sudden rainstorm)

Worst hotel stay. Their system was down all week we were there, even the cash register can’t work. Staff at the front desk were not professional. Two ladies at the front desk were chatting between themselves and we had to ask if “they are available to help”. Can’t believe this is the kind of hotel that serves important national events. Will not come back and will not recommend this place to our friends.

The hotel is very pleasant, the area is quiet, it has a beautiful garden, nice pool, rooms were cleaned everyday. There is a small coffee shop which was very convenient. The hotel is near the zoo, there is a cvs across the street and nice restaurants. Overall, my experience was very nice. I would return.

The property is nice. Mostly well cared for - although we did have an ant problem in our 6th floor bathroom. The coffee situation is a big issue as the complimentary coffee is not available until late in the am. The only other option was to use the poor quality coffee maker in the room or pay 6$ for a cup that was not great. Budget hotels have better coffee game.

We definitely enjoyed our stay for the 2 nights we were there for Easter weekend. When we arrived Friday late afternoon, the hotels internet was down which resulted in the front desk having to do everything by paper. There was a long line to check in but the staff had a very organized and efficient system of getting everyone checked in appropriately according to what they reserved. I commend them for their speed and grace under not so great circumstances. The room was tidy and beautiful and the beds comfortable. The housekeeping team did a great job on our room while we were away for the day on Saturday and you can tell they pay attention to detail. The hotel overall was a great choice for us and we would definitely stay there again!

Extremely inefficient check in staff. Took us over an hour to check in. They also let guests cut in before their turn in line. And they do not care how much inconvenience their inefficiency causes the guests. They also have no option to park your car outside while you check in so the only option you have is to pay $55 for valet parking. To me it’s a great money making strategy. Check google reviews before booking. Might save you time.

Beautiful place, clean, but , parking a bit overpriced and valet parking (only option) was full upon my return from dinner . I had to look for street parking after paying the rate per night for my stay. Had long wait to get into my room due to system outage .

First upon checking in the staff Kindi was rude and condescending, never smiled, when I asked simple questions she responded with a condescending remark. The room smelled like faces, there were fake eyelashes and socks from the prior visitors under the table and chairs. We were never able to get in touch with the staffs when we needed something, they never answered the phone. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever been to.

Property was old, furniture and decor were dated and worn down, and room I stayed in didn't match the description / the listed amenities of what I booked. Front desk staff were rude and unprofessional, and wanted to rush through every interaction without addressing any problems or issues. Everything about my stay felt like the hotel was trying to be borderline deceptive or misleading, and just trying to get the most money out of customers while putting in the absolute bare minimum amount of effort to make the stay pleasant. Won't be booking here again.
