Gut: Shower was really good, comfortable beds, very quiet and there's interesting walks just behind the hotel. They are Eco-friendly too!
Nicht so gut: Not applicable!!
This hotel is conveniently located, excellent restaurant service and food. The staff all went out of their way until we were satisfied with every detail. The connection to transportation around the island for tours, golf and even rental bikes was outstanding. We couldn't have done much without all the friendly staff to understand our needs and get it done immediately! They even kept trying when some tours were booked up. We had an excellent stop over!!

Not bad hotel....just not good value

If you like an average, limited service, hotel dressed up to look more like a good hotel than it is......this is the place for you. If, however, you prefer that quality and price have a relationship.....keep looking as I am sure there is better to be had.

Gut: Staff is efficient and competent. Anxious to deal with any small problem.
Nicht so gut: received no instruction at the desk about how to turn on room electricity. required an elevator ride down to desk to enquirer.
Lage: golden circle 8 hour tour was outstanding. Narrator was super! Gray Line.
About a mile from downtown- but really not a problem. Nice walk back on a nice path along the ocean. Food is excellent but expensive.

only hotel we stayed at with a fitness centre. Hotel was modern and comfortable, however staff were business only. One happy hour bar tender went out of his way, other than that the front desk staff were average. Location is a bit out of the way to downtown for some, but we enjoyed the walk.

I picked this hotel kind of randomly and found an amazing place with very bug rooms and baths, great breakfast and a nice spa. One of the best hotels I have been to.

Good Hotel with a GREAT Breakfast Buffet

Veröffentlicht am 27.05.2016 auf Hotels
The Grand Hotel Reykjavik is a solid choice if you're looking for a full service hotel that isn't too far from the center of town. I wouldn't characterize it as luxurious, but it certainly has some very nice features including ample parking, which is crucial if you intend to rent a car, and a phenomenal breakfast buffet, which is a huge resource in a town where eating out costs an arm and a leg. One caveat: the Grand Hotel seems to a popular choice with tour groups because of its size, so be prepared for there to be mobs of people and piles of luggage in the lobby in the morning and mid-afternoon.
