WLAN did not work! No table and only one chair in the room, but it was expected that we have the breakfast in the room :-(

nice rooms above the local pub.
Nice room and shower above the pub. Noise from pub-leavers on a friday night was not bad (we had the room to the front. Good value for money. And you get a breakfast.

Einfach genial!
Das Haus wurde 1895 erbaut, genialer Gastraum, supernette Besitzer und Personal, absolt sauber und empfehlenswert. Alleine der Flair dieses Hauses schreit nach Wiederholung. Essen gut!

Schöne große Zimmer, exzellenter Service
Sehr schöner Aufenthalt in einem schön eingerichteten großen Zimmer mit riesiger Dusche. Die Küche zaubert ein klasse Abendessen, das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Begleitet von einem sehr aufmerksamen Service war der Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Nur hört man im Zimmer abends die Musik von unten, was uns aber nicht gestört hat. Für Empfindliche liegen allerdings kostenlos Ohrstöpsel bereit.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden auch wiederkommen. Günstige Lage als Ausgangspunkt zu vielen Attraktionen in Cornwall. Das Haus selbst hat "britisches Flair", erscheint etwas altmodisch..

Friendly Management and Staff. Nice village Pub atmosphere. We enjoyed a two for one deal on Fish & Chips which was very good washed down with good Betty Stoggs Bitter. Accommodation was a little tired but clean and it was only one night and we got a good rate via Expedia. Overall a pleasant stay. We like Gulval and it was extremely convenient for the new Heliport and our early flight to The Isles of Scilly.

The Cold Streamer wasn't a pleasant stay, we had single wooden beds for a married couple, there was no wife, no breakfast and the shower cubicle and tiles was not very clean.

Nice little pub, dog friendly and good food and drinks. The room was reasonable, a good size and with private bathroom. The owners were accommodating and it was very easy to check in and out. The room itself is a little dated and would benefit from a few improvements. Resealing around the windows and in the bathroom and a little uplift in the furniture. Other than that was only 1 mile from Penzance centre. Continental breakfast delivered to the room at 9am each day which was good too.

Loved it!
Room and bathroom were very clean. Landlord is going to replace the mattress which was uncomfortable on one side. Great Continental breakfast. Perfectly placed in a quiet village 5 mins from Penzance. Landlord and daughter couldn’t have been nicer! Would certainly go back!

We stayed in a room for a week, the accommodation was in a great location easy to walk into Penzance but also close to get to lots of amazing beaches. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, with all the restrictions around COVID they had adapted very well. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We didn’t hear any noise from the pub and we had a really amazing stay. We ate in the pub for a couple of night and the food was very tasty and the portion sizes were huge for the price. I would definitely recommend.

Booked just before arriving. Staff friendly and helpful. Double room spacious and comfortable. Tiny TV!! Could do with a tiny fridge to stop sour milk! Toilet seat and light pull could also be improved.

Nice pub friendly customers, The bed I was given was atrocious I tried the second bed in the room and just the same.Never had a night like it the beds are rubbish, When I brought it up with the staff and manager Nick he said no-one else had complained, not true if you read the reviews, breakfast is served army style with no choice given other than coffee or tea, When i checked out Nick said he would tell expedia that I had only stayed one night,and I would be credited for the second night. To sum it up ,nice pub ,friendly locals breakfast just ok ,no choices . Go to the pub but don,t stay there

Having stayed at the property three times before when under previous management we were disappointed. Attention to detail lacking, no toiletries in bathroom, no hairdryer. Basic tea and coffee (only) supplied in an open plastic takeaway tray, loose teabags. No choice at breakfast, full English only although the gentleman very kindly provided some fruit juice and vegetarian sausages on our second morning. Staff were friendly it’s just a shame that the little things that make a difference are lacking.

A pub in the process of renovation
Ambiance in bar good. Barmaid involved in getting orders and taking food to tables and could not get internet on her phone so took a while to book in. My room did not reflect the quality of the bar downstairs. did not know that breakfast wasn't included until Expedia form came in. Checked this with the barmaid as she took me up to my room and she said she had no idea. sometimes you get a continental breakfast outside your room, sometimes not. She didn't know what it would be in my case. Rudimentary provision in bathroom. Only soap in a dispenser; overhead douche shower only; but fluffy towels. Sheets rumpled but appeared clean. Overhead light behind bed burnt my finger when I tried to change its position. When I left the room to leave the pub I found a continental breakfast outside my room door!! I think the rooms are waiting for upgrade and my experience may change for future visitors. I will not be using it again for a while. First time on Expedia as well and will never use it again as you clearly are unaware of conditions at your hotels

Disappointing
We did not feel welcome when we arrived - the person behind the bar barely spoke to us and certainly didn't smile. On the plus side the room was large, newly decorated, and very clean. Plenty of tea, coffee and milklets. On the negative side, there were no toiletries, not even soap, and the mattress was thin so we could feel the springs. No breakfast was available. (B & B with no breakfast? What's all that about?!) The pub offers food in the evenings, but not very friendly service. Overall we probably will not be staying here again.

Great village, great pub but poor accommodation.
There is good and bad here. The good: The venue is a pub. The building is about 120 years old, but did not start as a pub.No matter, there is a lot of character here. The sitle is in a village called Gulval, only a few minutes from Penzance. The room is large, though a bit spartan. The bathroom is a good size. Both very clean. The bad: Sadly there are a few. The bed sat very low to the floor. So low that it was a bit awkward to get up. Further to this, the matress rates as one of the worst we have experienced....ever. No support, and sagged in the middle. There is a 18" TV that by nature of the room size is hard to watch. There are no toiletries supplied except for hand wash, expected to be used in place of soqp or gel. There seems to be a musty smell in the bathroom indicating a drainage issue. Remember that this is a pub, and there may be some noise. While accommodation was booked at a premium time, and no beakfast was included, we believe that tlhe room rate was well above what it was worth. This a property that we woUld not return to.

Stayed 2 nights, both nights were very noisy until after 11pm. Bed and bedding very poor quality, top sheet for the double bed was only single bed size. We booked through Expedia and paid the hotel when we left only to discover 2 days later that Eviivo had paid The ColdStreamer Inn from our credit account the day before our stay. On contacting the ColdStreamer they were most unhelpful and told us to contact Eviivo, although we have never given Eviivo our details

A great place to switch off after a day out . The traditional HISTORICAL pub atmosphere is brillliant to experience The staff and the family owners are very helpful with any problem the guests mY have .
