- Gut: Sauberkeit, Personal & Service, Ausstattung und Zustand der Unterkunft
I stayed here for one night on a journey down from Scotland - and I'll certainly be staying again. Although it's very convenient for the motorway being just ten minutes from the M6, it's also in the country - a beautiful, peaceful position. The house itself is magnificent - a very interesting country house with many interesting features. I had with me my two dogs, one of them a very large Livestock Guardian Dog. They were made very welcome, and the walk from the house direct to the woodland was a lovely surprise. The pigs and chickens were a welcome sight for my LGD whose job at home is to guard her own flock from predators. She felt very at home and it was a pleasure to wander around the lovely grounds. I stayed in the Kelly apartment which had its own secure garden which was very useful for the dogs. It was a comfortable, quiet stay with a lovely bed. I had the best night's sleep for ages. Breakfast was excellent, and individually cooked in the main house. Full of character, it was a pleasure to wander round the huge dining room looking at all the features. Henry and Anna were excellent hosts, leaving me in peace unless I wanted anything, and more than happy to talk about the history of their beautiful house which has been Henry's family home. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel. My main recommendation would be to enjoy its comforts for longer than I did.
