Everyone played their part, with the front desk always willing to assist. The breakfast staff was quick to restock breakfast items, and the housekeeper ensured the room was tidy. The hotel only lacks a parking spot of its own!

The property was being upgraded. The room was excellent and clean. The door did squeek really loud but I presume the frame was a bit twisted. Outside the room the fire alarm and the fire exit door needed some work to them. The free breakfast was great and so was the coffee. Only issue were the elevators. Hard to fix something very old into the new standards. I will say the staff tried their very best to assist. I would return to this hotel. Thank you. Allison

I stay at this property each time I travel to New Orleans. It’s a few blocks away from bourbon street so I am away from all the commotion which I love. This year was a little different. Upon checking in I immediately noticed the hotel was getting work done. I was not privy to this or I wouldn’t have booked. The work started early each morning and was loud & interruptive. Had I been aware of the construction I would have booked elsewhere. Then, when I checked in they gave me the wrong room. I paid for a room with a separate living area. Once I noticed the room was not what I paid for, I went to front desk where I was asked if I touched anything because they did not want to “mark the room dirty”. They moved me to the correct unit and the air did not work. On the second night, the elevator was broken and my party and I had to walk up 12 - yes 12 - flights of stairs. The front desk apologized but basically said if we wanted to sleep that night we had to walk up. At the end of checkout (I stayed Thursday left Saturday morning originally I was booked to stay Thursday through Tuesday) I asked if due to all the disruptions and inconveniences if I would receive any discounts on my bill and was told no. I asked for a receipt when checking out and was giving something that showed I paid $0. This wasn’t the best experience and I am not ecstatic that I had to pay full price for a trip that I cut short due to the Hotel not being up to par.

The people were very kind and accommodating. Room was very clean, but you can tell that they were in the middle of renovations. When I booked it was recently Hotel Vinache and by the time of your stay, I got a notification that I booked the Hampton. But really nice place and I would stay again.

This property only has two elevators and only one works at a time, only 3-4 people are allowed on at a time! We had to carry our luggage up and down multiple flights of stairs

When checking in, the reservation was not in their system since booking through Expedia and the hotel was bought out 1 week earlier by Hilton (I get it).. they had someone clean our room and it was ready in 30 mins. Very accommodating. Lots of renovations going on. Ice machines were not there. The manger was very helpful in filling our ice chest from the back. Only 2 elevators and must’ve been years old. Too much weight causes it to stop. Both were down half the time, waits were long, it stopped at almost every floor every time even if no one was pushing the button, and when checking out hauling bags down the stairs was not the most ideal situation. They also didn’t have parking there so we had to park down the street.

I initially booked it as the Vinache but by time we arrived they had converted over to Hampton Inn & Suites. I called a few times on the day of my arrival to get info about parking and Essence was very informative and sweet. Upon arrival all of the front desk had smiles big and bright and they were very knowledgeable about everything regarding entertainment, eating, parking, parades, recommended apps that would be beneficial for our stay and so forth, Brandi provided us w a list of happenings, bars, restaurants and even family friendly options. The next morning we met CoCo who was also very welcoming and sweet. There was another guy as well that was very helpful, didn’t get his name but just know the Staff was 10/10 w smiles :) They are still doing some renovating on the property but it was quiet and very clean on the property as a whole. We stayed in a double suite on the 15th floor that had a great view of canal street. We are booking our rooms for next year prior to leaving to ensure and secure our stay. It’s a perfect location because it is just a few blocks down from where the parades are so you are able to still have access to come and go in your vehicle. They are still working on the elevator so have some patience. it will soon reflect the totality of the hotel as well. It did not disappoint even in transition.

I loved the location. It was a beautiful hotel And we had a great city view. It was clean, however the hotel was under construction and we weren’t aware. We were on the 15th floor, and the elevators stopped working so we had to climb 15 flights of stairs up and down every time we wanted to leave our room. we were never compensated for this and had to deal with it the whole weekend. First this was my Birthday Trip and it was totally adventurous, the hotel is under construction and it’s nothing like the pictures but the staff was overall amazing as much heat they been getting due to construction they still don’t fold under pressure they have life’s and family too feed as well, closing the hotel down completely while construction take place is not an option sometimes if it was they would have done so. New Orleans is historical the hotels y’all see closer to the strip on the strip ain’t worth the thousands of dollars they charge to be in an old antique hotel with 1930 furniture. We had so much spending money due to staying In this low price hotel with friendly staff who actually talk to you and give you places where to go other then, being in a high maintenance hotel who want spend 3 seconds to talk to you, who only cares about the revenue coming in. Big shoutout too!!! Tawana house keeper. On canal street. Elevators we not working at different times due to construction. The were dirty, dusty. Boxes all over the lobby. No breakfast, a bag with juice, pastry puff and nutri grain bar. We were not informed the property was being renovated. Room was ok. You have to request room cleaning 24 hours in advance, not sure why. Very disappointed.

We regret that our ongoing renovation efforts may have come as a surprise and affected different parts of the hotel including the elevators and lobby. It was a complete waste of money! This was a birthday trip for me. After partying all night I assume that we get a good night sleep. I was awaken by the construction noise. I wasn’t informed that there was construction going on in the hotel. I contacted the hotel, and I still haven’t received resolution.

This hotel is definitely a "work in progress". I was told the building is over 90 years old. It is still be brought up to modern standards. My take: horrible noise from some internal mechanical system, thin walls, construction all over, lobby not finished, got stuck in the the only functioning elevator, had to walk up to 16th floor because of the back up in the lobby, too much construction outside and resulting uneven pavement. Not too much to recommend.

The hotel was not as advertised as it was undergoing major construction. The owners should not have the hotel open during a major renovation. It would have been nice to know this before I was booking it that it was as I would have saved time and worry over rebooking another place.
