TURNED AWAY MY SERVICE ANIMAL

I was told about this motel by a new coworker. I was told it was affordable & although it wasn't like other hotels & motels, it would assist me at this time until I got on my feet. I arrived in Nacogdoches & slept in my car half of the first night. I decided to give this motel a chance to see if it fit my situation. When i got off that next day, I received an email stating they would accomodate me with checking in early. I drove to the motel & was greeted by this young lady. She was nice. She informed me that there were several healthcare workers that travel & all i needed to do was let them know ahead of time so they could get my room ready. I decided i would stay here throughout my contract. I have to drive hours back home every week, but it was nice to know i have somewhere to go. I went back home to get my service dog. I contacted the hotel & was met by resistance, ignorance, rudeness & ugliness. I was asked ILLEGAL questions when there are ONLY 2-3 questions they're allowed to ask. All of a sudden they couldn't accomodate my requests. I was also told "we don't accept pets of any kind!" I was baffled. I let the nurses & other professionals at work know about it & even they couldn't believe it either. It is illegal to turn away a service animal & it's none of their business why i have the service animal or why i don't have the service animal with me that day. I have a feeling they'll eventually be sued for this.

Dear Guest,Thank you for the feedback. We could not check in with you early because we were sold out the day before you cancelled the reservation. We did not cancel it, and we are not required to provide guest rooms ready before 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. According to policy, if any guest is checking in today, we have to have their room ready by 3 and not at 8 in the morning. But since we believe in good customer service, and as a special gesture, let them check in early for free if we have rooms ready. But we are unable to do this if there is no room ready for them to check in at 8 a.m. I request your understanding and consideration for your future stay.Sincerely,Hotel Manager
