Worth Every Penny
We stayed in this hotel during Oktoberfest. This is directly across from the train station and is loud, but amazingly, when you close the window it shuts out 99% of the noise. The tempurature was nice when we were there so we did not need to keep the window open, this is something to consider during the summer. But for Oktoberfest it was great, it was a short walk to the festival grounds. In addition the hotel was centrally located to most of Munich's sights. We were able to walk to most attractions within about 15 - 20 minutes. The breakfast buffet was amazing, but not free, in fact it was pretty expensive ($20+ Euro each), but due to the location of the hotel, you don't have to eat there.

The hotel is very clean and the staff are very polite and helpful. Air conditioning would have been good as the room became very hot. However the hotel entrance is dominated by rows of low-life ethnic "restaurants" and the pavement is very crowded - there are some rather unsavoury characters there. The prominent hotel "Beware of pickpockets" notice in the lift looked like a very sensible warning.

Comfortable
Small room for 3 persons but convenient to Train station across the street. A little noisy at night but we were exhausted from being tourists all day so didnt seem to matter. Hotel had 1 computer with free access to internet.

We enjoyed our stay.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. We chose a room on the courtyard side and would recommend this to other travelers. The street side may have been too noisy. We liked that the hotel was across from the main train station as it was easy to access our different day tours.

Comfortable and convenient
I was there with my sister and 5 year old son. Ups: Friendly staff.....were very helpful in terms of giving advice regarding places to visit, maps etc. Very close to train station.....extremely convenient. Neat and comfortable room. Affordable. Downs: No airconditioning in the room (probably the entirely hotel). However in early July, it was not a problem. No inroom internet access. There was a computer in the second floor for free use. Also right under the hotel, there is an internet cafe. Since we were touring , it was not a big issue for us. We were told by a local friend later that there was a nearby red light area and probably not the most chic area to stay at. But again we did not see any unsafe issues. It is right next to the train station with lots of activity. Ca not beat the convenience.

Good experience for the money
This hotel worked very well for me - I needed a clean, good location, well priced, no frills hotel. The location across from the station made it easy to get to from the train from the airport. Not an elegant location but definitely safe and walking distance to major attractions. Room was very small as expected, clean with nice typical German style bedding, a brand new bathroom and ok tv with English speaking stations. Couch and rug a little worn for my taste and room did not have air conditioning but overall was satisfactory. Hotel bills itself as in an 19th century building but I did not see any 19th century charm. Very simple and practical decorations and good working elevator. Hotel is overall very clean. Must complement the hotel staff - they were excellent. They sent up a fan when I mentioned that the room was hot, answered all travel questions with a smile, immediately got me an iron and ironing board when needed. Also, the hotel has one computer but it is free access to internet which worked out well. Certainly would stay again.
