Das Re Vittorio liegt in der Nähe des Doms und ist etwas "in die Jahre" gekommen. Sauber, gutes Frühstück (das man im Voraus mit einer Liste bestellen muss), freundliches Personal.

Small but spacious and immaculate hotel
This very small hotel is immaculately decorated and our room was very large and comfortable. Bed was great and so was the shower. The staff were very competent and friendly and breakfast was great although it could have been more relaxed. Having been asked the night before to choose what we wanted we felt that we were being watched carefully to check that we were eating the right things. Overall, though, the food was great as was everything else here.

This is a B&B, although I did not see that on listing. It is located an an upper floor of an apartment building, which is fine, but it was difficult to gain entry. Small sign out front, so look carefully. Meager supply of toiletries, so consider bringing your own. My "Comfort Room" was simple but adequate. One must preorder breakfast menu; there is no buffet. Staff offers good service. Best feature is the excellent location, a few blocks from the harbor and in a quiet, lovely neighborhood. There are not many good hotel choices in the central city, so consider this B&B.

El hotel es maravilloso, un antiguo y clásico edificio de época, acondicionado y decorado con muy buen gusto, equipado con todos los detalles de cortesía. La cálida y gentil recepción por parte de Massimo, hace que esta sea la mejor y esmerada opción en Messina. Lo recomendamos especialmente, nosotros volveremos.

The property is a floor within a lovely old building. Rooms are nicely decorated and spacious. Unfortunately we discovered our air con didn't work the first night. We spoke to reception first thing in the morning and they promised to get someone to look at it. Got back that night and the reception staff on duty didn't know about this issue and nothing had been done to try and fix it. The evening receptionist was wonderful, tried to get someone out but it turned out whole unit needed replacing. They had no other rooms so moved us to another hotel close by. Shame they didn't check the aircon themselves as part of room check but can't fault their resolution.

The reception staff were outstanding.They picked us up from the train station,directed us to the most wonderful local celebrations, found me ice for my sprain and got us a taxi in a hurry.The breakfast was excellent.Our room was airy and clean.
