Grauen zu Beginn, Luxus zum Ende
Problematisch war, dass das Hotel aus zwei Teilen besteht; Neubau und Altbau.. Leider landeten wir im Altbau- welcher auf den Fotos nicht vorzufinden war. Deshalb waren unsere Erwartungen total verfehlt und wir waren bitter enttäuscht. Ein Wechsel in den Neubau war erst 2 Tage vor Abflug möglich, da das Hotel komplett ausgebucht war. Im Neubau war es dann aber wunderschön! Amsonsten ist der Ort und der Hafen sehr schön!

I didn’t like the fact that we had to rake our own luggage up and back down to the lobby… also we were with friends and the gadget a Nespresso machine and we didn’t even have coffee in our room I had to request it and was given instant coffee

The hotel is really nice and the staff is super friendly. Overall it was a great get-away but just a few things that I think would have made it better: - they had different events every night that went until late so it would be really loud if I didn't want to participate and made it hard to sleep - they advertise that they have parking on the premises. This I would disagree with because I had to find parking along side the road and sometimes circle many times or park in areas that I wasn't entirely sure was legal to park in then I would have to move it when a spot opened up. - I wish that there was more variety in their breakfast selection. After day 2, it just got kind of old because it almost the same thing every morning. That being said, we had a pretty enjoyable stay here and if we came back to this same area, we would stay here again.

Séjour entre amis
L’accueil de l’hôtel était top, avec des gens toujours agréables et même une personne parlant français. Le petit déjeuner est copieux, avec un très grand choix au buffet, sur demande ils ont du pain sans gluten. Pour la chambre le seul bémol c est le bruit le matin car nous étions au premier étage avec la cuisine juste en dessous.

Fantastic hotel, going above and beyond
Fantastic hotel, very close to a choice of great beaches (I recommend Palm Beach in particular which is a 15 min walk away, but there are closer ones also). The food for breakfast and dinner was spectacular and choice full, both veggie and meat options and different types of cuisines (Greek/cretan, Asian etc). The hotel offers free of charge events such as wine tasting, Greek food cooking classes, Aqua aerobics and DJ night. Excellent service too, everyone very polite and helpful. There is a cocktail bar next to the pool where you can order drinks from via the app the hotel grants you access to during your stay. Fab experience 10/10!!

Wonderful atmosphere!!!
Really great holidays thanks to all the kind and friendly Staff of Albatros! I felt me home! Atmosphere is great there, relax, romantica, freedom. Excellent position, on the beach. Really excellent cleaning, vaste variety of food. I loved wake me up because of tasty smells of pancakes entering from my balcony. Beautiful touching evening live music. Nous sommes restés deux nuits. Points positifs : - superbe piscine, proche mer - super transat, bel équipement - nourriture plutôt moderne et correcte - petit dejeuner très copieux - propreté irréprochable - malgré les points négatifs,j'y retournerai Points négatifs : - il est indiqué 5 étoiles : ce n'en est pas un. Dans un 5 étoiles : - les lits seraient de meilleure qualité - l'accueil à la réception serait bien meilleure - l'isolation des portes, l'insorisation globale aussi - il y aurait un parking privé - le personnel serait plus aimable - les horaires check in/out - le client qui reste une nuit n'est pas considéré de la même manière que le client du tour opérator qui reste la semaine. Voici ce qui s'est mal passé : Nous sommes arrivés avec un enfant de 4 ans à 14h. On nous a dit de patienter 16h. Ok c'est dans les conditions. A 15h40, on nous dit que la chambre sera prête à 16h/16h10. A 16h, on nous dit que ça sera prêt dans 30min. Finalement après avoir râlé, la chambre nous a été donné dans les temps. Mais je ne comprends pas pourquoi c'était toujours mouillé au sol. 2 heures que nous attendions et ils préparent la chambre à 16h Pourtant, j'ai vu des gens à plusieurs reprises avec des valises dans le couloir à 13h faire un checkin J'ai réglé la veille à la reception toutes les boissons du bar, la personne m'a débité en pound et non en euros sans mon accord et le lendemain ils avaient oublié des consommation en plus. Le gros défaut est la gestion de la réception.

I booked a last minute stay at Albatros to extend my stay in Crete. It was the best decision! This property has everything you need. Amazing and helpful staff, plentiful buffets, 2 swimming pools, pool bar and ice cream shop (gourmet gelato for only 2€), evening activities and AMAZING spa with great deals! I built my own 90 minute spa package for 60€ (hydrotherapy, back massage & facial). The resort is very close to the beach and boardwalk as well. I loved every minute of my time at Albatros. No problems at all.

Excellent stay, but do NOT book a standard room!
Whatever you do, do NOT book a standard room or you will be very disappointed. The hotel is split into a few buildings and their standard rooms are in the old part of the hotel. We were there for the 1st night and got very upset with the overall standard of the room. It was clean, but think 1980s style of dark furniture, yellow AC unit which barely worked, crappy fridge, etc. Based on the pictures, this is not what I was expecting when I booked the room. Luckily, the lovely staff at reception were able to give us an upgrade for the 2nd night so we got moved to the nice part of the hotel: it felt like a different world! I finally understood why the hotel was rated 4-5* because the standard rooms barely scraped a 2*. Breakfast and dinner were included which was great seeing the variety of food on offer. What I definitely cannot fault is the staff working there. Every single person we came in contact with was very professional, friendly and willing to help. We will come back here but we will book a superior room from the get-go.

Great holiday here
The hotel staff could not have been any more friendly and helpful. Location is great we could hear the waves from our lovely big balcony, the buffet breakfast was full of choice. There was a better beach heading right 8 minutes away, ours was rather rocky near the waters edge. Entertainment great. Only niggle was the bed mattresses were too hard for us but then again we didn’t report it so perhaps something would have been done. Rooms were very clean

Hotel with tired main building but with nice staff
Hotel has 3 building - 1 old and 2 new. Old one is very very tired. I stayed there and wasn't happy even my standart room was upgraded to juniour suite. But staff in the gotel was nice as well as the food in main restaurant. The whole area of Hersonnisos is touristic hell - thoudans hotels and touristic shops, no beach, no pleasant landscape. Never come back there!

Fantastiskt hotell med supertrevlig personal. Rent och fräscht, daglig städning. Kanonfrukost med stor variation. Strandhanddukar som man kunde byta när man ville. Vi blev uppgraderade till superiorrum de sista två dagarna, trevligt!!! Både standardrummen och superiorrummet var jättefina. Jag kan verkligen rekommendera detta hotell

Hotel magnifique
Très bon sejour dans cet hotel. Personnel aux petits soins et menage impeccable. Proche de la mer et des commerces. Seul bemol peu d animations dans l hotel et aucun transat disponible car les gens les réservent avec leurs serviettes ce qui est agaçant.

Ottima posizione
Ottima posizione a pochi metri dal mare, l'albergo ha delle ali recenti ed altre più datate, con livelli delle camere ovviamente diversi. Noi abbiamo soggiornato per cinque giorni nell' ala più vecchia, in una camera adeguata alle nostre aspettative (ovvero a quanto pagato). Gli ultimi due giorni ci hanno proposto di trasferirci in una camera di qualità superiore, gratis, con vista sul mare e su scavi archeologici in corso. Molto disponibile e gentile il personale, in particolare il receptionist Adam ed una sua collega orientale. L'ultimo giorno, avendo noi il volo di ritorno a sera inoltrata, ci hanno custodito le valigie anche dopo il check out, mettendoci a disposizione piscina, una doccia e la toilette. Camere sempre pulite ogni giorno. Due piscine molto curate e pulite. Internet wi-fi incluso per n°1 dispositivo per camera. Nel complesso siamo molto soddisfatti dell' esperienza vissuta presso questo Hotel.

Like staying in a 24 hour nightclub
This hotel is not all bad - their lunchtime food is delicious, and inexpensive. The swimming pool is ice cold but very refreshing on a hot day. Rooms are very, very clean; all the communal areas too, and especially the pool. The location is fantastic - near some lovely restaurants. There are lots of sunbeds, but only around 1/3 are comfortable ones with padding - you need to get down to the pool by 8:15am to bag your bed. The reason for the rating is the volume of music around the pool area. If you enjoy your sun holidays with Euro-pop and rock sumping out of the speakers at eardrum-breaking levels, this is the hotel for you! I thought something had gone wrong on the first day when the speakers were cranked up at around 11am to deliver 'Mr Bombastic' and 'I Like to Move it Move It', but after a while another couple asked the music to be turned down, and it was. For about an hour. Then it was cranked up again. And so began our five day stay. Every couple of hours, the music, gradually growing louder, would reach the point where I'd read the same sentence in my book seven times and had a thumping headache from the thumping bass. I'd ask them to turn it down, and they would; for a time. Then it would creep back up. But by the second day, our requests were largely ignored. They'd claim they had turned the music down, but it really did not seem like it. Indeed, we were told: ‘everyone loves the music!’ I admit, music is a largely personal affair, but I would guess that rare is

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you appreciated the position of our hotel, the cleaning of your room , the meals in our restaurant while we are sorry that the music nor its intensity in the pool bar was not of your preference. Frequently we are praised for the service of our staff and the response to guests requests. Our hotel offers an inner yard where the swimming pools are and usually our guests discover during stay the appropriate place according to their personal taste either closer to the pool, less or more sunny or quiet. Probably sunbeds further away from the snack bar would have been more to your liking in regards of the proximity to the loudspeakers. It is unfortunate that you did not find your relaxing corner. All your remarks are precious to us, we will share them with our team in order to correct the negative points. We would be delighted, if you decided to offer us a second chance, to welcome you again in the future.

Good hotel, not too expensive
We stayed in room 227, it seemed that that room was in the original built of the hotel as the fixture and fittings were a bit dated. The other buildings within the complex seemed newer. The tv was on a small size and instead of being in the wall, it was placed on a small table. You were watching the tv with your head turned at 45 degrees to the left. Free WiFi most of the time was very, very slow. I don't agree with paying 18 euros (for a week) to have access to the faster internet. The faster internet during our stay was faster than the free of charge one, sometimes not by much. We used an app to measure the speed. We noticed that there were a lot of pensioners in the hotel. The beach near the hotel wasn't brilliant but you can walk a bit from the hotel to get to nicer beach or take a bus to the other beach. Hotel is close to the center of hersonissos. Staff was very pleasant, coffee was always topped up at beakfast without fuss. You can stay there if you fancy it.

I think it's 4 stars or less,
Good friendly staff, nice location nice view excellent pool, but it is missing some 5 stars services such as mini bar in the room actually they don't even serve a bottle of water in the room, they have no 24 hours restaurant and the breakfast buffet is not like a 5 stars buffet by the way the price was good.

With regards to your comments about the hotel services , please take into account that there is mini fridge in all hotel rooms which our guests can fill upon order on reasonable prices from the mini market, also is available 24 hours room service, Mediterraneo main hotel restaurant is open for breakfast , lunch and dinner buffet while there is Seaside snack bar and Daphne a la carte restaurant with relevant operating hours. Usually we are prized for our breakfast buffet , however we will share your comments with our team in order to improve ourselves. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed our hotel's location , your room's view, the pool area and the friendliness of our staff at a fair price. Thank you for considering staying with us again on a future occasion!

this is not 5 star!!!
I booked this hotel as expedia listed it as a 5 star hotel. this isn't even close to a 5 start. i understand that european standards are different than the US and many 5 star hotels in EU would be 4 in the US. This hotel would be a 2 star in the US.
