During check-in, the evening staff tried his very best to charge me an additional fees for my 15 year old. I told him the child was listed in our reservation via Expedia & the rate already included the 15 year old. He insisted on the additional charge; however, when he heard me talking to Expedia hotline, he then backed off and said it was okay but would still require a deposit which was no problem.
During checkout the next morning, I asked the hotel owner to refund the deposit. He said he would need to inspect the room first. After his inspection, he came back & said everything is okay and the deposit would be refunded back to the same credit card. However, I still felt uneasy since they tried to billed me additional fees the night before. I made sure to set a reminder on my credit card app if and when the charge clears. Sure enough, a few days afterwards the pending charge for the deposit got cleared & was posted as a purchase. Fortunately, I have certain evidences of their actions and called the credit card customer service to dispute the charge.
I just want to give everyone a heads-up if you're staying at this property, to make sure your deposit is placed on a credit card so that you're protected.
