Very conveniently located

I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel while attending a conference within the hotel. I found the staff were very willing to help with any requests. I was unpleasantly surprised by the Restarant managers response to a request to have a gluten free salad in the lounge instead of the Restarant. I'm celiac and was dining alone and was just more comfortable to eat in the lounge. The server , who was very pleasant , said it shouldn't be a problem, but she had to check with the manager , she said that it usually isn't a problem. He came out and said no- I said there wasn't options on the lounge menu for me except a cheese tray, which quite frankly I just didn't want, too heavy. I told him the night before they served the same salad in the lounge. He still said no so I had no choice but to go to dining room. Not impressed by him alone. Everyone else was more than professional and helpful. I would understand if I wanted a more complicated meal but it was a salad. On a more positive note , the front desk staff and bell hops could not have been more helpful. I would stay at the Westin again as I feel this was a isolated incident.
