Das Personal war den Erwartungen entsprechend sehr höflich, zuvorkommend und professionell. Das Zimmer war geräumig, sauber und ruhig. Das Frühstück auf dem Zimmer nach einem morgendlichen Besuch des überschaubaren, aber schönen Spa-Bereichs, war hervorragend.

Perfektes Hotel für einen Trip nach Edinburgh
Wundervolles ikonisches Gebäude mitten in Edinburgh, alles fussläufig erreichbar. Service war phänomenal, umfangreiches Frühstück was überwiegend auf Bestellung serviert wird. Sehr gut ausgestattetes Gym, Pool und Dampfbad/Sauna. Alles was das Herz begehrt! Zimmer sind sehr großzügig geschnitten und hatten einen tollen Blick auf die Old Town!

Wohlfühloase
Ein wunderbares Gebäude in exzellenter Lage. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten Edinburghs sind fußläufig bestens zu erreichen. Wer gerne einkaufen möchte, kommt in unmittelbarer Nähe voll auf seine Kosten. Der General Manager ist sehr freundlich und kümmert sich persönlich um viele Dinge. Das gesamte Team des Hauses - Rezeption, Concierge, Service etc. - ist überaus freundlich, kompetent und hilfsbereit. Einen Besuch dieses Hotels kann ich wärmstens empfehlen.

All in all we had a nice stay
Well, it's the Balmoral, a landmark in Edinburgh.The hotel ist just beautiful, everyone was very friendly. Unfortunately we were told upon arrival the Wifi would be turned off at 11pm (there was no notification in advance) which was a bit inconvenient as we needed to prepare for a seminar. The room was very nice, we had a beautiful view of Calton Hill. We had a Classic Room which was very nice and quite big, but a bit badly assembled as the cabinet in which the Nespresso machine and the water boiler as well as the minibar were in was right in front of the bed and could not be opened and used properly, because the bed was in its way (there are just about 35cm between bed and cabinet). So we asked the housekeeping and she literally crawled into the cabinet to get the coffee machine out and put it on the desk. When we came back the evening housekeeping had put it back into the cabinet. We were then offered room service coffee for the next morning. It is not like the room was not big enough (also bathroom is huge and great), just inconveniently assembled, but we got the feeling that as we were "just" staying in a classic room it was space-saving and I think no one who stays in such a hotel should feel that way. Also as the heating did not work and we were given an electric heater (I went to the reception at 11pm), usually in such a hotel you get offered a different room or other amenities or so. The Spa is amazing, we went to the steam room there and everyone was very helpful.

Das Balmoral ist die Sensation dieser Stadt!
Wir waren zu zweit, von Mo bis Fr, in diesem tollen Hotel, in dieser schönen aber windigen Stadt! Edinburgh ist sicher eine Reise Wert, aber warme Kleidung und eine Kopfbedeckung darf man nicht vergessen. Das schöne an dieser Stadt ist, dass die Altstadt kompakt ist und man alles fußläufig besichtigen kann. Wer nicht gehen mag, der hat aber Busse, Straßenbahnen und Züge in alle Richtungen. Das Taxifahren ist günstig und sehr angenehm. Das Balmoral ist der Mittelpunkt dieser Stadt! Exklusiv ist hier alles, auch die Preise! Ich würde aber in keinem anderen Hotel wohnen wollen!

I booked this stay for my parents so they can go on their dream trip. They said the hotel was gorgeous, clean, and the staff was amazing, specifically Andrew who recommended places and checked in with them frequently to make sure they were enjoying their trip. The location was perfect and there was so much to do within walking distance. Highly recommend and my parents want to go back soon!

Wonderful Hotel and the Afternoon tea service was sublime. They accommodate my husband's dairy and egg allergies for our meals. The morning buffet breakfast was just right to start the day. Only note is hotel is right next to Waverly Station do it's a bit crowded in front of the hotel.

Staff were exceptional! Stayed for 2 nights and cannot fault any aspect of the hotel, the staff from the minute you greet the consierge staff to the housekeepers 10/10. The Balmoral is an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Princes Street. We were wearily travellers and from having our car parked, to the concierge, reception and then excellent decor and size of our room we found our stay to be an experience we are very keen to repeat. The food for breakfast and dinner was again served with polite discretion and in a low no hurry way that let us unwind from our busy itinerary.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Balmoral. Its location is central to everything, and we walked everywhere. The heated floor in the bathroom was fantastic!
