It was lovely to stay at B.P. Lodge once again.
B.P. Lodge has had a chequered history in recent years. Wonderfully it seems to be in good, caring hands right now. En-route from the Scottish Highlands to Kent - it makes an ideal overnight stay with a good evening meal available if you want one. Pooch-friendly Room 11 is lovely. It’s at the rear of the property, so no noticeable traffic noise from the busy main road at the front. We received a great welcome & D.V. look forward to returning

Pleasant stay. Spacious room Which had recently been decorated. Good sized shower room and a little balcony Overlooking farmland which was a nice surprise. Hotel on a busy road so traffic noise could be a problem If you’re room us at the front. The entrance hall to the hotel is a little shabby And smells a bit odd but the dining area and bar are clean and tidy. Food very good and bar prices very reasonable. Location is a bit remote so remember to bring bathroom toiletries as there are none provided and nowhere close to buy things you’ve forgotten.

Simply amazing
We had the most fabulous stay here. We were welcomed and hosted with attention to detail. The display of kindness towards myself and my Partner was second to none. So generous towards us. This place is a true gem of a find. We will definitely be back again when we visit Carlisle, and have already recommended this place to our families. Thank you so much for having us. You truly do care about your Guests and it shines through in everything you provide - from the chatter to the food to the rooms and the concern for us and our comfort. Amazing.

A great get away for a quiet, relaxing night or two. The location is in a country setting with beautiful trails for walking close to the property. Other attractions and towns are within driving distance. The staff was very accommodating and keeps the lodge extremely clean. The restaurant served dinner for an extra charge which is convenient, however breakfast is included and offers many different options.

An ideal stopover
Situated just outside Carlisle, we found the Park Broom Lodge an ideal place to break our journey to Scotland. A comfortable room, good food and pleasant service set us up well for our onward journey. We had contacted the hotel prior to our arrival asking that there should be no perfumed substances either in the room or used in its cleaning and were pleased to find that this had been acted upon. The new owners have plans to improve what is already a good place to stay - we look forward to finding out what they have done next time we venture north.

The room was comfortable and clean and the staff friendly and attentive. The meals were excellent and the dining and bar areas well decorated and comfortable. The situation of the prmises on a busy (and so noisy) main road was the only important negative aspect of our stay.

The hotel smacked of faded splendour. It was in need of some refurbishment. We returned at night to find that the bed had not been made. Not a big deal but it is one of the nice features of staying in an hotel. Having said that the staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. The quality of the dinner was particularly good.

Lovely stay
Arrived in the dark, car park could do with some lighting so you could see where your walking but there where plenty of spaces. Staff were very helpful, food was excellent, reception area had a lovely open coal fire which was very welcoming. The only negative was the cups and glasses in our room hadn't been washed and the bedside tables had crumbs on and were sticky where someone had previously spilt coffee. All in all very good value would stay again.

Good overnight stop, great value, good breakfast, good size clean room. Only downsides were a little noisy from road and smell of cigarette smoke in ensuite and shower could have been a little more powerful but overall good and would certainly stay again

Only stopped 1 night was ok except a bit of road noise but thats because its next to a busy road but apart from that it was ok. The staff were fantastic and so helpful. Would i stop here again yes i would.

Ideal for a short stay, I’ll be back in future.
Easy to find and good parking. My room had a very comfortabke bed and a smart bathroom. Excellent dinner and breakfast! My room faced the main road but the double-glazing kept it nicely quiet.

This hotel is perfect for anyone walking the Hadrian's Wall Trail. In the past, it was very close to the trail, but now with a construction detour, it is right on the trail. They serve dinner there so you don't need to worry about finding a place to eat. The rooms are spacious and well done with excellent showers, just what you need after a day of walking. Also, they will do your laundry for a very reasonable price and have it available first thing the next morning. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. The location is just a little outside Carlisle to the east but staying here is much more pleasant and relaxing then trying to walk around Carlisle trying to find your hotel.

A warm welcome
We booked at the last minute, but we’re welcomed warmly and shown to a lovely big room with spotless shower room and king size bed. We chose to eat in the restaurant, which was smartly furnished and served good, home-cooked food at reasonable prices. Breakfast, too, was excellent and freshly cooked to order.

An overnight stop whilst driving up north to down south, booked on the day. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room clean with everything I needed. At the back of the hotel so road noise not an issue although there was a bit of vibration as on a fast stretch of road, but not enough to really disturb. Only had breakfast, excellent selection, quick service and well prepared. I will certainly visit again and hopefully take in dinner next time. Only 2 miles off the motorway and much better generally than service stop hotels.

Rather disappointed
The place was further from the city center than we thought. They advertise on their website that all rooms had king size beds (we were lucky if ours was a double). They also advertised that every room had a view either of the landscape to the south or the lovely garden to the north. We had a room that was literally ten yards from a very busy highway. The whole first night all we heard was cars & trucks whizzing by which made it very hard to sleep. They did change our room for the next night & put us in a room in the back which was much more quiet, however, there was no garden view we had a view of the dumpsters & some cows in a neighboring field. They claim to have food & a bar. They did include breakfast which was amazing, they also served dinner which we did not partake of. The bar was actually the reception desk & was open only during dinner. I asked for some ice for my water the next morning & was told they only turn the ice machine on in the evening. The woman who served us breakfast both mornings was a lovely person, the best thing about the place was her & the breakfast.
