I can understand that reception and other services like breakfast have been stripped to a minimum as a result of all the cancellation the Katoomba region must have because of the bush fire threats. Bit I was really disappointed by the room they gave me. It was really tiny, like after I opened my suitcase there was barely any space left to move. Creaking floors, poorly sound proved rooms (i could hear every whisper from next door), and the fridge in the room sounded like a turboprop.
The Metropole tries to charm with its Victorian style, but it's obvious that the building needs a makeover.

Katoomba der ideale Ausgangspunkt für die Blue Mou

Sehr laut,da Bahn vorbei fährt. Fahnenmast direkt vor unserem Zimmer sehr laut ,da starker Wind war.

Thank you for the feedback, unfortunately we are unable to do anything about the trains, we are more than happy find guests a quieter room if possible.

Very good location to everywhere
Veröffentlicht am 28.11.2016I did not like that the Wifi changed after one day and nobody could help me when I came to the hotel after 6pm. A guest should always have access to internet if it is already included in the booking. Although the reception was helpful they could be more friendly. As a guest I do not want to have the feeling that I am disturbing anyone. All in all, everything was fine. It was indeed clean, you can make tea or coffee in your room. The location so close to the station and the town center is great. You walk around 20 minutes to Echo point and The Three Sisters. From there on you can have a great walk to the Katoomba Waterfalls.

Gut: Tischtennisplatte. Buchlesekamin
Nicht so gut: ja die Zimmer und die Feuerleiter.
Lage: Blaue Berge bewandern
Super Räume und echt stylisch im old english Style. Aber etwas veraltet.

The place was clean and tidy. I booked 2 rooms about 3 months back and we were allocated on the ground and second floor, I asked if we could have adjacent rooms and was told that all the other rooms were booked inspite of the vacancy sign being displayed. The games room was leaking due to the rain.

Old world charm in a convenient location meets modern accommodation and friendly service.
Great value for a room with ensuite near the town centre with a full cooked breakfast available downstairs.
