I can understand that reception and other services like breakfast have been stripped to a minimum as a result of all the cancellation the Katoomba region must have because of the bush fire threats. Bit I was really disappointed by the room they gave me. It was really tiny, like after I opened my suitcase there was barely any space left to move. Creaking floors, poorly sound proved rooms (i could hear every whisper from next door), and the fridge in the room sounded like a turboprop.
The Metropole tries to charm with its Victorian style, but it's obvious that the building needs a makeover.
