A short term rental is a contract in which the host is expected to provide what they advertised, and the guest is expected to accept what is advertised. Should the host be found deceitful about something, like claiming they have a gas grill, giving the wrong brand of coffeemaker, or even saying there was internet, then the guest would have every right to complain about it and dock stars from the review, as a duty to alert future travelers that this host is not honest. Otherwise, it seems gratuitous and even irresponsible. In the future, I encourage you to be mindful when you leave reviews that may hurt the host's business just because you were distracted when you signed up to stay at a property. You slipped under my radar because you had recommendations from other hosts, but I try to avoid guests like you even if you did leave the place very clean and you did observe the house rules. It's just not worth the unpleasantness.

Thank you Hallie. You were, all three of you, an absolute delight to have around and, to top it all off, you left the place impeccably clean, particularly considering the challenge of traveling with a lab. In fact, you left it even tidier than most who come without a dog, I am truly impressed and extremely grateful. I hope you will come visit again in the future and I highly recommend you to any host lucky enough to have you. :-) Fabiola

Christy, Marcy and their furry companion, Olive, were perfect guests: they are polite, responsible and extremely neat. They left the cottage spotless and were extremely kind. I would welcome them again in the future, with open arms, and think that any host would be lucky to have them as their guests.
