“Best hotel on the whole trip - and the least expensive!”

Wonderfully restored hotel from the 1930's - constructed, according to the very friendly receptionist, for VIPs who came to Boulder City to observe the construction of the dam and needed/demanded a place to reside in style during their visit. We felt as if it had been built for us, and we were indeed treated as VIPs. Our only possible complaint was that we couldn't open the window in the room - it had been painted shut. This was the only place we stayed (we spent 3 nights in Death Valley National Park, 3 in Grand Canyon N.P., 1 each on the Navajo and the Hopi reservations and in Sedona, AZ) where we had internet access, and free at that. A sumptuous breakfast was included. Unfortunately we probably won't visit Boulder City ever again. Too bad!
