Great hotel, staff varied!

Vorzüge: Room was fantastic! Pillows and mattresses very comfy! Maid service excellent
Minus: Staff could be trained with each other so customers always gets excellent service? the lady receptionist on Sunday 20/07/14 should always be in charge
Ort: Although no tea/ coffee making facilities in room if you turned right you got Cafe Einstein and if your turned left you got Cafe Balzac both great!
Room was gorgeous and roomy, dressing room made up for tiny bathroom. Rooftop terrace was fantastic. However staff were varied, most were fabulous and made us feel very welcome however one was quite grumpy and made us feel a little guilty! one night we asked for 3 bowls of ice (there is no air conditioning and temperatures reached 30 degrees). Water is free but not chilled so the ice melted very quickly! Perhaps an ice machine on a couple of floors so as not to annoy the male receptionist would be a good idea?

Vorzüge: The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room clean and modern. A very good buffet breakfast was supplied.
Had a very pleasant stay here whilst exploring the city. Hotel Otto is nicely situated in a quiet area, well peppered with good restaurants and with good public transport links very nearby.

Convenient location....a few minute walk between Ernst Reuter Platz and Savignyplatz. The X9 express bus from Tegel airport drops off at Ernst Reuter Platz which is about a 3-4 minute walk from the hotel. No reason to take the taxi since the bus is quicker and less expensive (only 2.60 Euro). Nice rooms and the complimentary coffee, pastry, and fruit in the afternoon on the top floor restaurant is quite a nice touch. The breakfast is pricey and not anything unusual...but the hotel is a short walk to a Bio-bakery down the street where something more tasty can be obtained. I plan to stay there again.

Hotel Otto is low on frills but very high on willingness of staff to be helpful, has a fabulous breakfast plus coffee and cakes in the afternoon, is surrounded by restaurants and cafes, and is in a nice residential area within a few minutes' walking distance of both under- and over-ground train lines.

Great Hotel in great location! Staff very helpful!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for three nights. It was perfect. The staff was very helpful and suggested many cool places for us to go. The hotel is located on a beautiful street where there would be parking for those that have a car. We are expedia elite members so we were automatically given complimentary parking at this VIP hotel. There are great restaurants around all within walking distance. The hotel provides complimentary water in your room. The breakfast was nice but we only had it once. It's on the top floor with an outdoor area. We loved that they has prosecco! They also offer complimentary afternoon tea/coffee, water, and cakes in the eating area. The subways stop was very close to walk to and it took us to Alexanderplatz, Checkpoint Charlie, and some of the other area we visited. All in all, we would definitely book this hotel again. Note to travelers: there is no air conditioning at this hotel, which is very typical for Europe. There was a large fan in the room. Great area, great service, great hotel!

Vorzüge: The lift!
Minus: Nothing
Two couples visiting the city to sight-see. Good location in interesting area with shops, cafeteria and good restaurants near at hand. Had some good meals locally. 5 minutes to S Bahn. Rooms were excellent with plenty of room, walking-in wardrobe, shower/bath and comfortable beds. Nice touch was water and fruit in room. Could have more water as required. Breakfast, on the top floor, was excellent with wide choice and delightful service. Terrace as well. Free tea, coffee and cakes through out the afternoon and early evening was a very welcome feature after walking round museums, etc.. The hotel does not have a gym or pool and the lift does not reach down to reception level or up to the breakfast room which could be awkward for some people. But for those wanting a good place to stay when going out to explore the city this is ideal. Think there are one or two smaller rooms on ground floor, so do just check what you are getting! Otherwise go for it!

Minus: nothing
Ort: everything is within walking distance
